Why is public service important to you?
Public service means putting the needs of my community, city, state, or country above your own. Public service is about ensuring just environments in which everyone can be safe and fulfilled. public service means doing your best to make a difference to people’s lives and create a better society. It means that every day you’re able to know that you’re working for others whether through implementing legislation or resolving issues.
Why did you choose a career in Public Service?
I have always been passionate about public service and making a difference in people’s lives. This is why I decided to pursue a career as a civil servant for City of Houston.Choosing a career in public service can add to that sense of fulfillment. It can provide opportunities to act on my altruistic desires and the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing I
made a measurable difference in my community.
Thanks!
What would you say to inspire someone to begin a career in public service?
One of the biggest appeals to young people in pursuing a career in public service is the opportunity to make a difference. And there are few fields that offer the chance to make such an impact as when you can help someone in need.
